What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to website owners.
This Cookie Policy applies to the puku website (puku.app). The puku iOS app does not use browser cookies — see the "In the iOS App" section for information about app-level storage.
Cookies We Use
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are typically set in response to actions such as setting your privacy preferences or logging in. They do not store personally identifiable information.
- Session cookies: Maintain your authenticated session on the web version
- CSRF tokens: Security cookies to prevent cross-site request forgery
- Consent cookies: Remember your cookie preferences
Analytics Cookies
We use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how our website is used. This helps us improve the site experience.
- Page views and navigation patterns (anonymized)
- Referral sources (which sites link to us)
- Device and browser type (aggregated, not individual)
Analytics data is never linked to your identity and is aggregated before we see it. We do not use Google Analytics on this site.
Functional Cookies
These cookies enhance the functionality of the website, such as remembering your language preference or display settings. They may be set by us or by third-party providers.
Third-Party Cookies
We do not allow third-party advertising networks to place cookies on our website. We do not use cookies for retargeting or behavioural advertising.
Our website may include links to third-party services (such as Apple's App Store). Those services operate under their own cookie policies, which we do not control.
Your Choices
You can control cookies directly through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View and delete cookies stored by websites
- Block all or specific third-party cookies
- Block all cookies (note: this may affect site functionality)
- Set preferences for specific websites
To manage cookies in your browser, visit your browser's settings or help pages:
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies
In the iOS App
The puku iOS app does not use browser cookies. Instead, it uses:
- AsyncStorage: Local device storage for app preferences, cached wardrobe data, and session tokens.
- Supabase session tokens: Stored securely in AsyncStorage for authentication.
- Keychain: Sensitive tokens may be stored in the iOS Keychain for security.
This data is stored locally on your device and is cleared when you delete the app or revoke app permissions.
